Laneige Lip sleeping mask- Is it worth the hype?

As we are approaching rigorous winter months, I am on the lookout for moisturizing lip products. Truth is, I always have a hard time finding a good lip product that has long lasting hydration and effective moisturization properties. Usually, lip balms dry out the lips more. I keep finding myself constantly reapplying the balm over and over again.

For the longest time, I have heard that Laneige lip sleeping mask is the one to go. My friends, family and my other influencer friends swear by it. I wanted to see the magic for myself.  Finally, I bit the bullet, and I got one.  But does it really worth the $24 price tag. Let’s take a look.

Before I shower you with my thoughts and experiences, I would like to take a deep dive into the specs of this product. So, what does this lip mask do? What is it made out of? Here is what you need to know.   Allegedly- This is a leave-on lip mask that delivers intense moisture and antioxidants.  Main ingredients are Murumuru Seed, Shea Butter and Berry, Fruit Complex which is a blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, and blueberry extracts. It also contains Vitamin C and antioxidants.

My Experiences

By looking at the ingredient list, I am pretty impressed. It has bunch of fruit extracts, shea butter and Murumuru seed. This is a nutrient dense lip mask. I am going to be brutally honest.  The verdict for this lip mask after using it about 2 weeks that it truly works.

I only need to apply once a day, usually, before going to bed. During cold and dry days,I use this as a lip balm if my lips are really chapped and needs extra care.  This lip mask has a thick but creamy consistency. Absorption is not as fast as I hoped it would be but given that it is a lip mask, it is expected.  It smells so good. It tastes sweet as well.  The smell is not overpowering!

Once you apply it, your lips instantly soften up. It is a nutrition dense mask.  My chapped lips are adequately moisturized and feels so soft within 5 minutes of application. If I applied at night, when I wake up, my lips are moisturized and hydrated. It gives your lips a drink of water which is what you need.  This lip mask is thick so it could feel little tacky, but the tackiness is completely gone after its absorbed. Personally, it doesn’t bother me since I am getting such good results.

 Is It Really Worth the Price Tag?

This lip mask costs a whooping $24 dollars.  Usually, lip products cost about $5 at most.  Does it justify the price tag? I think the answer is yes. Here is why!

Speaking from a personal experience, every time I buy a lip balm the results are not great. I end up buying countless amounts of lip balms in the hopes for keeping my lips nourished and moisturized.  During harsh winter months, my lips remain chapped and blistered no matter what lip balm I use.  At the end of the year, I find myself wasting way too much money on lip products that don’t work.

I rather invest in Laneige lip sleeping mask than invest in countless amounts of ineffective lip products. This mask is truly effective. It is nutrient dense and does exactly what it needs to do. It repairs my chapped lips within hours. The effects of the lip mask last a long time. Even if it a pricey investment, it is effective and it works which justifies the price tag.   This mask comes in a 0.70 oz jar. Since it has a thick consistency, you only need a very small amount of product. This jar will last you couple months. For me, it will last me for about 4 months. I will only buy this product three times a year. Long story short, in the long run it is more cost effective to invest in this effective product rather than investing hundreds of dollars in lip products that don’t work.

It is worth for you to give it a try. I have no doubt that you will absolutely fall in love with this lip mask. This mask comes in many different flavors. With that being said, they just came up with holiday flavors such as pumpkin spice and peppermint for a limited time. Also, they also have cool flavors like gummy bear and sweet candy. There is one for everyone!  Well, this mask gets 10/10 from me. Could not be more in love.
