Double serum from clarins made a me a whole!

  I bit the bullet. I finally did it!  I finally gave in and tried Double Serum Firming & Smoothing Anti-Aging Concentrate from Clarins. I can’t tell you how I curious and interested I was about this serum. I have read, researched and obsessed over this serum for the longest time. Everything about this serum drew me in and sparked my curiosity. I haven’t tried much from this brand although they have been around for a very long time. It was a “not so” spur of the moment decision. I was online shopping and next thing I know I got the e-mail that read “Thanks for your purchase.” I blame it on my credit card company for allowing me to purchase such things and my computer; which is making it possible for me to online shop while I am sipping my glass of wine on my cozy couch. No regrets there. Regrets only start when I try to justify the $90 purchase, I made on ONE skincare serum. With that price tag, it better be good.   I was expecting something extraordinary. I was expecting something effective and earth-shattering. Given the price point, this serum might as well make me look younger, do my taxes and clean my house.   Well, I wouldn’t say this particular serum is earth- shattering but let me just tell you; I definitely was not disappointed at all.  Without further ado, let’s begin reviewing. Shall we?!

 It is claimed that Double Serum Firming & Smoothing Anti-Aging Concentrate evens out the skin tone, boosts radiance and effectively target lines and wrinkles. It is packed with 21 potent plant extracts to visibly reduce wrinkles, promote skin firmness, smooth, tighten pores, hydrate and revive radiance. This serum is brands best-selling anti-aging serum that claims to visibly firm and improve radiance in just seven days. (Thought that was extremely ambitious.)

My Experience

Let’s start with packaging. It has a beautiful plastic transparent packaging with gold accent. The transparent bottle allows you to see the beautiful texture of golden red liquid. It is absolutely stunning. It is a bottle with a pump where it is a breeze to get the product out.  I usually use two pumps each time as it is more than enough to cover the entire face. It looks beautiful and practical. But given the price tag, I expected a glass bottle, not a plastic one.  I wish it was glass since glass is environmentally friendly. I am kind of disappointed in this aspect. Come on Clarins, you can do better!

Texture is orange reddish color and oil like liquid texture. It applies beautifully. It absorbs fast since it is very lightweight. It does not leave any sticky feel at all. The application process is very pleasant.  The process is quick and easy. Truly no complaints there.

Let’s talk about how my skin feels after application.  When we are talking about high-end products, the expectations are much higher. Rightfully so! I am happy to say that this serum definitely works well as expected. It did not disappoint one bit. (Thank God, if it did not work, how would I explain myself spending a fortune on a product that did not do jack!)

I have dry skin during harsh winter months. I suffer from flakey skin that is itchy and looks very dull.  During the winter months, I usually try to use products that are extremely nourishing, moisturizing and hydrating. Nothing less than that would actually cut it. When I started using this serum, my skin condition was very grim. It was flakey and dry. It was a perfect time for me to use this serum since I could really see whether it made any difference. And it did. I use this serum 2 times a day. As soon as I started using this serum, my skin began to transform and heal. This amazing serum is definitely so nourishing. Just by looking at the ingredient list, you can tell how nourishing it is. My skin got less flakey in each use.

Been using this serum for about two months now. My skin has improved a lot. First of all, I have this lovely glow that I am in love with.  My skin looks healthier. It started to smooth out my wrinkles. It has brightened my skin. It helped with my dark circles and dark spots. It brightened my skin.  This is by far the most hydrating serum I have ever tried. It made my skin soft and way less flakey. It literally gave my skin a drink of water which it needed. My skin feels soft and smooth. It helped with my fine lines and wrinkles as well. It started to plump them and made it way less visible. My skin looks a lot radiant now. My skin feels and looks a lot firmer.  I am happy to say that results can be observed very quickly. I could not be happier with the results.  The brand claims that it works within seven days and I think their claim is right. I started to see improvement in my skin as soon as I started using it. I consider this as a multipurpose product where it literally helps with most of the issues your skin might help. You buy this serum, it helps you with dark spots, wrinkles, dullness, lack of radiance and hydration. It does a lot of things and it solves skin issues quickly. Love that about this product!

Even though, I have a sensitive skin, I haven’t experienced any adverse reactions. It is a miracle to me. I can’t tell you how many times I have tried a luxurious skincare that literally made me suffer. It is such a relief. I am so happy with this serum that I decided to use it for a very long time. I see this serum being my holy grail for a very long time. It is a good quality serum that is extremely effective. This product is a must have in every skin care routine. I will basically use this serum periodically, mostly during winter months.

 Let’s talk about the price. Clarins is considered a high-end brand where they are not cheap at all.  1 oz serum costs $90 and the largest size which is 2.5 oz costs a whooping $175. Definitely not cheap. However, the statement of “you get what you pay for” is completely true for this product. I am not going to lie, there are serums that are just as good that comes with a lower price tag. For me, I prefer to pay for products that are effective and high quality. It is a personal decision.  Since I have sensitive skin, it harder for me to find effective skincare that actually works. Since this serum, transformed my skin, I ought to stick with it for a long time as needed.

Overall, I think it is a really good serum that is effective, luxurious and great quality. Aside from that cheap but stunning plastic packaging, I think Clarins really created an amazing serum that just works. I fell in love with the texture and what it did to my skin. I fell in love with the ingredients it had.  I am expecting to look like I am 25 when I am 50 years old. As if! I am so glad I got the chance to try it as I was obsessed over it for a very long time. Hope this helped. Long story long, if you get the chance definitely try it but if it is too expensive for your budget then don’t sweat it. There are other comparable products that are just as good for way less money. Just being honest here!
