Yes, there is such thing as a body serum and you need it!

 B-GLOWY Brightening Body Serum is here to make you glow. I have been trying and reviewing products longer than I can count.  At this point, I consider myself a self-proclaimed voluntary lab rat.  I am amazed how creative brands can get. Every year someone comes up with a product I never knew I need. Then I purchase it (don’t tell my husband) and I end up loving it.   Past couple of years, there is a new product trend that brands started to follow which is creating a new body serum.  I finally came across to one from Maelys and I am not the same person anymore.

When I first heard about the body serum, it did not think it was useful. My prejudice against this product clouded my judgement too.  Now thinking back, I wonder why I was so reluctant. I mean, I apply serum on my face twice a day every day. I literally spend a fortune on facial serums as they don’t come cheap.  Why not show the same love and care to my body as well. Well, after using this body serum, I finally decided that I actually love using body serum and from now on I would need to keep purchasing them. (Do not tell my husband!)

I love Maelys. They always create good products. They mostly focus on creating skincare for the body which other brands rarely do.  No, I am not talking about famous boring body butters or body scrubs. This brand makes legit body products that helps get rid of cellulite and tightens the body. As I had a new baby 2 months ago, I have been relying on couple of their products to fix the deformations pregnancy has done to my body. I am happy with most of their products as they are effective and good quality.  They do not play when it comes to body skincare.  

Maelys just came up with this body brightening serum and I was really curious about it. I am not going to lie, what sold it to me was the packaging and the texture.  I thought it would be a fun product to play around with. Before I actually blabber about my experiences, let’s get to know this product.

About The Product

This product is a brightening body serum that helps to reduce appearance of dark spots and improves discoloration. It improves the appearance of uneven skin. It also helps even the completion of the skin for a radiant look. It could be used on chest, knees, hands, armpits, elbows, or any other area with visible discoloration and/or dark spots. For best results, it should be applied twice a day.

Main Ingredients;

• Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2: Helps visibly fade the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

• Niacinamide: Helps brighten the complexion.

• Meadowfoam Oil: Helps soften the skin & protect against environmental factors.

My Experience

I have been using this serum for about 3 weeks now.  I mostly use it on my hips as I have darks spots in that area. Even though, I have not been using it for too long, I started to notice that my dark spots are starting to fade away. I can not be happier and I cannot wait to use this product couple more months to see whether it makes it completely disappear. My skin definitely looks brighter and feels smoother.  It’s a very hydrating serum. My skin feels so soft after each application. Application is a breeze. I usually apply two pumps each time and rub it on my skin. It quickly absorbs without leaving a sticky feel. There is a clean but subtle smell. It disappears quickly.

I have a really sensitive skin and I have to be really careful of the skincare I am using. This product did not cause any kind of irritation at all. My skin loved it and I loved it as well. I will keep repurchasing this serum. I am so glad that I found a product that works and does not irritate.

The bottle retails for $59. It is a reasonable price for what you are getting. Good quality product that is effective is totally worth the price. The bottle is a nice size but since its focuses on the body, I use it a good amount. It is recommended for this serum to be applied twice a day.  To be fair, this bottle will only last me 2 months at most, if that. I wished it was in a bigger tub. Personally speaking, I do not mind spending money on a product works but still, it is not cheap, and it lasts a lot less than other skincare products.  This product is worth to give it a try.

The Verdict

Overall, Maelys created an amazing body serum that effectively helps dark spots to disappear. As it brightens the skin, it nourishes as well. I am starting to see results. My skin looks smoother and even. I love how it leaves my skin soft and supple. The only downfall is the size of the product. Using 2x a day as recommended would lessen how long it lasts. A bottle won’t last longer than 2 months or maybe less for some depending on the usage.  But it is worth to give it a shot. If it works for you, then you can make the decision whether to repurchase it again.
